“Okay, BYE!”
Literally though, I have been saying bye bye 👋🏼👋🏼 to my bank account of late because there are SO MANY fantastic new books hitting our book store shelves! There is also a tremendous amount of restocking happening – for example, Heartstopper #2, #3 & #4 have finally made it back fresh from re-printing! These have consumed my life in the past 24 hours … updates and thoughts coming soon.
This year, for 2022, I did vow to spend less money on buying books to borrow more from my local library. I am successfully failing hard at the first. It’s mid year and the amount of unread books already overtaking my living room is ridiculous. I am so incredibly grateful to be exposed to unlimited uncorrected proof copies of books, yet there is still something so special about that feeling of taking a new, finalised, unboxed and freshly printed book home.
Is it an addiction? Or is it a hobby? I’ll leave you to decide.
